Moominpappa (2014–2022)

Moominpappa got his new bowl in 2014 and this time the background colour was dark blue. The bowl was discontinued in 2022. The bowl was designed by Tove Slotte, and it pictures Moominpappa sailing on his boat under the starry sky. The original artwork is found in Tove Jansson’s comic strips #2 Moomin and Family Life and #3 Moomin on the Riviera. “I started drawing Moominpappa based on some old comic strips, but the department of approval at Moomin Characters asked me to adjust my design from both sides; his snout and eyes, for example. The panel in the comic with Sniff standing on the beach, and a second one in which Moominpappa is sitting with Snorkmaiden, have been a great starting point for this design”, says Tove Slotte.
