The seasonal winter mug of 2010 was the Skiing Competition. The original artwork is found in Tove Jansson’s comic strip #5 Moomin’s Winter Follies. Designer Tove Slotte brought the images to life by adding some colour to the design. The mug pictures Moomintroll and Stinky coming across each other in the forest. The backgrounds of the earlier winter mugs had been dark blue, but the Skiing Competition started a new set of winter mugs with a white background. The mug was more commonly sold without a box, but at Iittala stores the mugs were sold packed in gift boxes. Seasonal stickers have been used in the mugs since 2006.
